This printing system comprises 2 Aerotech nanopositioning stages, an ANT130XY-160 two-axis XY stage and an ANT130LZS-160 single-axis Z stage, a high-precision pneumatic dispenser (Ultimus™ V, Nordson EFD), and a variable-magnification digital microscope camera system for imaging and alignment.
The nanopositioning stages offer 1-2 nm resolution, ±5 µm accuracy, ±75 nm bi-directional repeatability, and a 160 mm × 160 mm × 160 mm build platform.
The X-Y-Z motion of the stages is controlled by an Aerotech iXA4 multi-axis motion controller and Automation1 software, providing a clean operator interface.
Motion paths can be generated either by directly writing G-code commands or by translating a CAD design into G-code using slicer software.
This motion control system enables the translation of complex designs into high-resolution dispensed or printed products.
Real-time imaging and alignment are handled by a variable-magnification digital microscope camera with adjustable LED illumination, integrated with the motion control system for precise placement and in-process inspection.
